I am currently beginning a trip into the Book of First John. His simple yet big thoughts on Christ and Love and being an authentic Christian inspire me.
1 John 2—1MY LITTLE children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God's law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father--[it is] Jesus Christ [the all] righteous [upright, just, Who conforms to the Father's will in every purpose, thought, and action].
Jesus, our advocate who defends us against charges of our sin, is the perfectly righteous King who died in my place to save me from guilt and accusation. He is in perfect step with God, since He is God, and conforms to the Father’s will in every purpose, thought and action. To me this means that God the Father isn’t the angry one sitting on the throne and, if it wasn’t for Jesus, he would want to blast me for my sin and Jesus is the only one who can stop Him from doing so. Indeed, if it wasn't for Jesus God would blast me for my sin...but God the Father and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit were the ones (or One) who came up with the plan of salvation and God the Father and God the Son, who is my advocate, both are glad that I stand forgiven and free.
Satan is my accuser, not God. Satan would have me blasted for my sin because there is no love in Satan. But God loves me. God wants to bless me with His grace and forgiveness.
2And He [[a]that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
